The Turkish National Football Team suffered a huge disappointment once again against Italy, which takes the top spot among the teams they faced and never defeated in their history. The crescent-star team got 5 draws and 12 defeats in the 17 matches they played against their rival so far. This historical nightmare deepens even more with the heavy 4-1 defeat taken in the last struggle played. While Italy scored only 3 goals in total in their last 4 matches, they found exactly 4 goals against our national team in just a single match and left the pitch with a glorious victory. The nationals, starting the match extremely ineffectively, saw very early goals in their net. In the 9th minute of the struggle, Italian stopper Alessandro Bastoni took the stage and scored the goal that put his team ahead. The guest team, increasing its pressure, increased the difference to two with Davide Frattesi in the 22nd minute. Michael Kayode, evaluating the huge gaps in the defense, determined the score of the first half with the goal he scored in the 27th minute. Turkey, starting the second half with a hope, tried to close the gap with the goal found by Barış Alper Yılmaz in the 47th minute. However, Italy responded to this goal instantly and Pio Esposito completely pulled the plug on the match by carrying the score to 4-1 in the 51st minute. This soulless football on the pitch and the distinctive defeat taken completely overflowed the patience of the fans filling the stands. In the later parts of the match, very harsh resignation chants rose from the stands towards manager Vincenzo Montella. Thousands of fans invited the Italian coach to resign because he could not take the team out of this dark picture. The National Team, bowing down to this historical trouble again, will have to go for a brand-new structuring in the upcoming period. The final decision the federation management will make about Montella's future will occupy the agenda of the Turkish sports public for a long time.
