AMORIM'S SYSTEM REBELLION: "I PREFER A BIG FAILURE"

"I don't yet have the players who fit my system. When you come to a new club, you can't expect everything to be ready. But I prefer a challenge like this because it means a lot to me. If I'm going to fail, I prefer to experience a big failure. I want to help this club. I don't know if I will find the time I need, but the players listen to me. This gives me hope that we can overcome problems and find solutions."

Italian giant Milan experienced a first in its history by losing 2-0 to Portuguese representative Benfica at home. Following this historic defeat, all eyes turned to the new head coach, Ruben Amorim. In the press conference held after the match, the Portuguese manager made highly transparent evaluations about the team's current situation and his own game philosophy. Stating that he does not yet fully have the group of players to reflect his system on the pitch, Amorim emphasized that he accepts the difficulties of this transition period but deliberately chose such a massive challenge. Bravely expressing that he even risks the possibility of failure, the young coach stated that he is determined to help the club. Despite the criticism from the fans and the sports public, Amorim drew attention to the strong communication he has with his players, underlining the belief and respect shown to him in the dressing room. While the Italian press carried this historic Benfica defeat to their headlines, Ruben Amorim's system rebellion and his statements highlighting the bond he established with his players were interpreted as a critical message for the club's future roadmap.
