A FIRST IN GALATASARAY UNDER OKAN BURUK: FIRST HALF SHOCK

Galatasaray, fighting for the summit in the Süper Lig, experienced a historical frustration away at Trabzonspor. The yellow-red team, taking the pitch with the absolute password of victory, left the field with a heavy 4-0 defeat and greatly disappointed its fans. The Istanbul representative, starting the match quite sluggishly and making consecutive incredible mistakes in defense, could not prevent the claret-blue team's fast attacks. In addition to this heavy defeat, the first forty-five-minute part of the match brought along a negative statistic for head coach Okan Buruk's career. The Galatasaray defense, completely helpless against Trabzonspor's effective attackers, entered the dressing room 3-0 behind. According to statistics, this situation went down in the records as a first experienced in the Süper Lig since the day Okan Buruk took office. Galatasaray, under the management of the successful coach, never saw three goals in its net in the first half of any away match it played before. This historical destruction in Trabzon clearly revealed the weaknesses in the yellow-red team's defensive structure. Player substitutions and tactical interventions made in the second half did not change the course of the game. Galatasaray, completely falling out of the game with the fourth goal it conceded in the last parts of the match, left the tough away game without points. Following this heavy defeat, the sports public started discussing the new measures Okan Buruk would take regarding the team defense.
