HARSH REACTION FROM XABI ALONSO: WE MUST DO BETTER

In the new week of the English Premier League, Chelsea caused great disappointment to their fans by losing 3-0 away to Brentford. Appearing before the cameras after the match, Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso harshly criticized his team's performance on the pitch. The Spanish coach stated that the result and the football played were unacceptable, expressing that everything on the pitch created disappointment. Stating that they fought well and stayed in the game for the first 45 minutes, Alonso emphasized that the team completely collapsed in the second half and was wiped off the pitch with 3 consecutive goals. Reminding that the match lasts 95 minutes, the experienced manager voiced that the team lost its competitive mentality and consistency in the second half. Pointing out how decisive small details are at this level, Alonso said that they paid a heavy price for not being able to maintain the same level for 95 minutes. Reminding that this situation is a process after the criticisms, the coach added that they only left a 5-match period behind and that every match in the Premier League is very tough. Implying that they need the patience of the Chelsea management and fans, the Spanish manager underlined that they absolutely must do better. While morale deteriorated in the London team after the heavy defeat, it was learned that the team would focus on defensive errors in the training sessions to be held during the week.
