Following the 38th and final matchday of the 2025-2026 Premier League season played today (May 24, 2026), AFC Bournemouth has etched its name into history. Visiting Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth secured a 1-1 draw to officially guarantee their qualification for the UEFA Europa League.

In today's highly exciting match at the City Ground, the home side took the lead in the 33rd minute with a free-kick goal from Morgan Gibbs-White. Bournemouth, needing a win to push for a Champions League spot, did not give up. Starting the second half quickly, the away team equalized in the 53rd minute through Marcus Tavernier, assisted by Adrien Truffert. With no further goals in the remaining minutes, the match ended 1-1. Although the Champions League ticket was narrowly missed due to other results, the red-and-blacks finished the league in 6th place and secured their spot in the Europa League.

This result means much more than just a tournament ticket for the club. Founded in 1899, the historic English club has qualified to compete in a European tournament for the first time in its 127-year history. Under the leadership of manager Andoni Iraola, who is announced to leave at the end of the season, the team achieved a historic success by remaining unbeaten in their last 18 matches, showing incredible consistency.

Despite their limited budget compared to giant-spending rivals, Bournemouth surpassed expectations and is now preparing to give their fans an unforgettable experience next season, with European anthems echoing for the first time in club history.
