STRIKING STATEMENT FROM MOURINHO BEFORE MADRID DERBY

"It seems strange to me that everyone has known for weeks who the derby referee will be. I am acting in good faith and hoping that this stems from the referee's quality. Derbies are always more than 3 points."

Breaths were held in the Spanish La Liga, and all eyes turned to the giant match to be played in the capital. Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho appeared before the cameras at the press conference held before the highly anticipated tough Atletico Madrid derby. The Portuguese coach created an agenda, especially with his striking statements above regarding the referee of the match. Stating that he found the early leak of the giant match's referee strange, the experienced manager said he still wanted to approach the issue with good intentions. The successful coach added that he wished this early appointment depended on the referee's high-level quality. Touching upon the special meaning the Madrid derby carries for the club and the fans later in the meeting, Mourinho emphasized that the matches they play against Atletico Madrid are not an ordinary league struggle. The Portuguese football man proved how motivated his team is for this match and that they want to leave the pitch with an absolute victory. While all calculations on the Real Madrid front were based on victory, this subtle message from Mourinho resonated widely in the Spanish sports media.
