A FIRST AND ONLY IN TURKEY: UNDEFEATED BEŞİKTAŞ

The 1991-1992 football year, the 34th season of the Turkish 1. Football League, was the scene of a unique epic for the Black and Whites. When the league marathon that started on August 31, 1991, ended on May 17, 1992, Beşiktaş went down in history as the first and only undefeated champion of Turkish football history under the vision of legendary president Süleyman Seba and the management of English coach Gordon Milne. It was seen that the "Özkaynak" infrastructure system, to which Serpil Hamdi Tüzün devoted great effort, lay at the foundation of this great success. This system, which discovered young Turkish talents and brought them to the A team, combined with President Süleyman Seba's institutional approach to build Beşiktaş's golden age. The Black and Whites dominated the summit with 76 points by getting 23 wins and 7 draws in 30 league matches, declaring their third consecutive league championship. Fenerbahçe became the closest follower in the championship race, finishing second with 71 points, while Galatasaray completed the season in third place with 60 points. Boluspor, Adana Demirspor, and Samsunspor bade farewell to the league. While Aykut Kocaman became the top scorer of the season with 25 goals, the top scorer of the undefeated champion Beşiktaş was legendary striker Feyyaz Uçar, who found the net 19 times.
