MOURINHO'S SCANDALOUS WORDS CAME TRUE: GIVE ME MY TROPHY

The eventful statements made in the past by Jose Mourinho, who currently sat in the managerial seat of the Spanish giant Real Madrid, sat on the world football agenda again with Manchester City receiving a penalty. The Portuguese legendary coach gave a striking interview in 2024 during the period when he managed Fenerbahçe in Turkey. Mourinho used quite assertive words about the 115 financial charges against Manchester City and his league runner-up position in the 2017-2018 season when he was at the head of Manchester United. In his statement at that time, he clearly used the expressions, "Maybe they give Manchester City a heavy points penalty and we become the champion. They need to pay my bonus and give me that trophy immediately." These words he uttered during the days he managed Fenerbahçe were interpreted by the English and world press as a huge scandal and an example of arrogance. However, after the passing time, the Manchester City club was officially found guilty of 114 out of 115 files, and Mourinho's prophecy of that day suddenly got serious. The possibility of the experienced coach, who sought success at the head of Real Madrid today, actually taking that trophy in 2018 astonished football authorities. The fact that this demand, which was a matter of mockery years ago, sat on a legal basis became the most talked-about event of the day on the sports pages. The Manchester United side and Mourinho, who currently worked at Real Madrid, awaited the final decision with great attention.
