L'EQUIPE ANNOUNCED: DESCHAMPS AND ZIDANE SPLIT IN FRANCE

L'Equipe, the leading publication of the French sports press, brought the radical system change experienced within the France National Team and the massive rift between the methods of manager Didier Deschamps and the methods of Zinedine Zidane to its pages with all the details. In the details of the news, it was stated that the gap between these two different football minds turned into almost a complete contrast in every field, from training schedules to warm-up routines, from pre-activation exercises to general session planning. The French national players adopted the basic principles of the Zidane school in a short time and put them into practice on the pitch. The first prominent feature of this new system was the closed-circuit camp concept, which was clearly expressed in the meetings and completely severed the team's connection with the outside world. The players quickly accepted this sealed bubble model, which completely isolated them from external factors. Another most striking element of the new era was the strict technical focus in the training sessions. Technical capacity came to the fore even in the simplest practice drills on the pitch. For example, even in standard shooting drills directly facing the goal, a pass combination or an organized game pattern was necessarily added before the shot. This intense technical approach, which increased tactical depth, instantly raised the team's variety in attacking organizations. The L'Equipe newspaper reported that the team moved away from Deschamps' pragmatic game understanding and embraced this system of Zidane based on technique.
