Manchester United have turned down yet another approach for young striker Benjamin Sesko. According to TeamTalk, Tottenham made contact through intermediaries regarding the 23-year-old Slovenian, but Manchester United gave every interested party the same clear response: Sesko is not for sale. The club reportedly views the striker as a foundational piece of head coach Michael Carrick's long-term project and considers him "untouchable" in the current market.
According to the report, Bayern Munich and Barcelona had similarly made enquiries through intermediaries regarding Sesko's situation, but Manchester United gave all clubs the same firm answer. Sesko, signed from RB Leipzig for around £74 million last summer, struggled during the first half of the season but found form following Carrick's appointment, ending the campaign strongly with seven goals in his final 13 appearances.
It's also emphasised there is no desire on the player's side for a departure, with Sesko reportedly thoroughly enjoying his football under Carrick and his coaching staff and wanting to remain at Manchester United. With Richarlison's future still uncertain, Tottenham are expected to turn to alternative targets in their striker search following this rejection.
