FRIENDSHIP NIGHT IN KONYA: POSTPONED UNTIL PALESTINE IS FREE!

The meaningful match displaying a great example of solidarity and friendship between Konyaspor and the Palestine National Team witnessed unforgettable moments going down in football history. The fans, packing the Medaş Konya Metropolitan Stadium within the scope of Palestine Day events, embraced both teams with flags in their hands. The footballers, who took the pitch hand in hand with Gazan children, gave a very strong peace message to the whole world. While Melih İbrahimoğlu scored in the 2nd minute and Mostafa Mohamed in the 28th minute for Konyaspor, Mohammed Sandouqa scored Palestine's goals in the 12th and 25th minutes. While the struggle continued in a great friendship with a 2-2 score, the referee of the match stopped the game in the 89th minute. With the announcement echoing in the stadium saying "The match is postponed until Palestine is free", the match ended with a historic decision at exactly 89:59. Exactly 1014 Palestinian athletes who lost their lives in Israel's attacks were commemorated in a special way in the stands when the match clock showed 10:14. The giant banners opened by the fans featured emotional choreographies of 12-year-old Muhammed Durra killed during the Second Intifada in 2000, the symbol of resistance Hanzala, and the Palestinian grandfather Halid Nebhan who loved his granddaughter Rim, who lost her life in Gaza, by saying "Soul of my soul". While hundreds of toys were thrown onto the pitch for Gazan children in Konya, white doves, the symbol of peace and hope, were released into the sky. Thousands of people filling the stands give unique support to the rightful struggle of the Palestinian people by chanting freedom slogans in unison. This meaningful solidarity, proving that sports is not just a game, will echo deeply all over the world and will never be erased from memories.
