There has been a fresh development in the transfer saga surrounding Parma's 23-year-old Japanese goalkeeper Zion Suzuki. According to journalists Santi Aouna, Gianluca Di Marzio and Fabrizio Romano, PSG have overtaken Juventus, whom they had been competing with for weeks, to become the club with the advantage in the race. Talks are ongoing between the three parties involved — PSG, Parma and the player's representatives — with the Parisian club presenting its project to Suzuki in hopes of winning his approval.
PSG are ready to move forward with Parma, while Juventus, also chasing Suzuki, have already seen their initial offer rejected. What initially seemed like a somewhat far-fetched rumour has gradually gained substance, with several generally reliable journalists now aligning on the story. Suzuki, who impressed with Japan at the 2026 World Cup and made 20 Serie A appearances last season, is valued at around €20 million by Transfermarkt.
It's noted the 23-year-old would not be guaranteed a starting role at PSG, with the move viewed primarily as an investment for the future. Meanwhile, PSG's pursuit of Suzuki is also tied to a review of current goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier's future, with Suzuki expected to come into the picture should Chevalier leave the club. Suzuki remains under contract with Parma until June 2029.
