HISTORICAL SHOCK IN ITALY NATIONAL TEAM: SECOND TIME IN 40 YEARS

The Italy National Team is leaving a historical mark with the 2-0 defeat it received against Belgium in front of its own crowd. This striking result, closely followed by football data analysts, is going down in records as one of the rarest events in the last 40 years of Italian football. The Azzurri are tasting a defeat by at least two goals without experiencing goal joy in a home match for only the second time. This statistic clearly reveals the current problems in the defense and attack lines of the team. The other similar heavy defeat Italy experienced at home dates back to the Croatia friendly match played on August 16, 2006. Italy, leaving the pitch with a 2-0 defeat against Croatia on that day too, did not see such a heavy and silent defeat face at home during the long years that passed. The Italian defense, which remained helpless against the effective attack organizations of Belgium, is having great difficulty stopping the opponent strikers throughout the match. The Italian sports press is carrying this historical defeat to its headlines and intensely criticizing the tactical preferences of the technical committee. The fans are reacting greatly to the unresponsive football their team showed on the pitch despite filling the stands. This unique 40-year football data proves that urgent measures need taking for the national team to recover. The head coach is expected to make radical changes in the squad structure in the coming days. The Belgium national team is advancing strongly towards its tournament goals with this clear victory.
