CONTRACT SCANDAL AT MANCHESTER CITY: MANCINI'S CONTRACT

The Italian sports newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport brings an incredible financial scandal regarding the English Premier League giant Manchester City to light. According to the news, the club's former head coach Roberto Mancini signed 2 separate contracts during his working period in England. The Italian manager's official agreement earned him a net 1.69 million euros annually. However, the real striking detail lies in the 2nd and secret contract made. Mancini made a complementary agreement with the Abu Dhabi club Al Jazira, which belongs to Manchester City owner Sheikh Mansour. Within the scope of this front agreement, the Italian coach earned exactly 2 million euros of extra income in return for providing consultancy services for only 4 days a year. This payment method of the club is seen as a planned move made to bypass financial rules. The Manchester City management activated such front companies and different clubs to show high salary payments low on the club balance sheet. The fact that the Italian coach earns more than his main salary for a symbolic job of 4 days creates a huge shock effect in the sports public. This document, which emerged while the 115 different financial rule breach lawsuit against the English club continues, completely changes the course of the investigation. Lawyers and finance experts examine Mancini's dual contract structure in a detailed way. Opponents demand the heaviest penalty for the club regarding these secret payments.
