The 2026 season has turned into an absolute nightmare for Max Verstappen, the Dutch star pilot who has left his mark on Formula 1 in recent years and barely let his rivals breathe. The picture that has emerged in the past 12-race period paints a rather pessimistic view for Verstappen and the Red Bull team. The rest of the statistics are quite unusual for a champion pilot. In 4 of these 12 races, Verstappen failed to reach the finish line due to various technical malfunctions or crashes, resulting in a DNF (Did Not Finish). In the other 4 races where he managed to see the checkered flag, he stayed off the podium and failed to enter the top 3. Experiencing such a sharp decline in 2026 after his overwhelming dominance in previous seasons has created great astonishment in the world of motorsports.
