Agent Crisis Over Yann Diomande Transfer Shocks Real Madrid

The official unveiling of Yann Diomande, seen as one of Real Madrid's biggest signings this summer, has been delayed by an unexpected agent dispute. According to AS, despite a fully finalised fee agreement with RB Leipzig, the player's presentation has been put on hold due to legal action from Maxidel Management, the company led by his former agent, Max Gradel. Gradel claims there was a breach of contract regarding the terms agreed with the player and has taken the matter to FIFA.

Real Madrid had negotiated the transfer directly with Roc Nation, the agency founded by rapper Jay-Z, believing the firm to be the player's sole representative. However, Maxidel Management, who secured Diomande's move from Leganes to RB Leipzig last year, claims to retain his representation rights until his departure from the German club, throwing what appeared to be an otherwise complete deal into disarray. Real Madrid's hierarchy is said to be furious over the situation, feeling misled by the lack of transparency during negotiations, with the anger directed at the agencies involved rather than at Diomande himself.

The matter now rests with FIFA, which is reviewing Maxidel's formal complaint. In the coming days, football's governing body is expected to decide between three options: granting Diomande a provisional licence to allow the deal to proceed, delaying his arrival, or halting the signing entirely. Amid the uncertainty, both Liverpool and PSG have reportedly renewed contact over the player, encouraged by the delay.
