One of Brazilian football's brightest recent talents, young Vasco da Gama forward Rayan, is now in the spotlight due to interest from Saudi Arabia. According to Globo, Al-Hilal want to add the 19-year-old to their squad. Rayan's name had already surfaced before through an intense social media campaign launched by Al-Hilal fans, who demanded the club sign him.
A product of Vasco da Gama's academy and now an indispensable figure under manager Fernando Diniz, Rayan's performances have caught the attention of some of Europe's biggest clubs. Tottenham, Aston Villa, Barcelona, Chelsea, Liverpool and AC Milan are all reportedly monitoring the youngster closely. A study by the CIES Football Observatory has projected his market value could reach as high as €100 million.
Vasco da Gama's management are said to be protecting the player, so far declining to seriously entertain offers from Europe. However, Al-Hilal's entry into the race, backed by the financial power of the Saudi Pro League, is being viewed as a development that could change the course of the transfer.
