Arsenal's number one target: Morgan Rogers

A huge transfer race is taking shape regarding the attack at Premier League champions Arsenal. According to CaughtOffside, the London club is leading the race to sign Aston Villa's English forward Morgan Rogers. Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool are also reported to be closely monitoring the situation, but Arsenal are viewed as the "frontrunners" in the race.

The biggest obstacle standing in the way of this transfer is Aston Villa's valuation bar. According to reports, Villa are demanding a fee in excess of £130 million for the player, with that valuation said to use Elliot Anderson's move to Manchester City as a benchmark. It is stated that Villa may be forced into a major sale due to profit and sustainability rules, but their reluctance to lose key players persists.

On the player's side, the picture gives Arsenal encouragement. Rogers is reported to be "open" to a move to the London club, and Arsenal are expected to table an official bid in the coming days. However, there is another factor complicating the talks: Arsenal are also interested in Villa defender Ezri Konsa, and Villa are unwilling to lose both Rogers and Konsa in the same transfer window.

Contributing 14 goals and 12 assists in all competitions last season, the 23-year-old Rogers, whose contract runs until 2031, stands out for his versatility, being able to operate on the left wing, centrally and in advanced midfield roles.
