Speaking at Fenerbahce's General Assembly meeting, club president Aziz Yildirim delivered the transfer news fans had been waiting for. Laying out a clear timeline for a new attacking addition, Yildirim said: "We will sign one striker, and we will finish this transfer within the week."
Yildirim also signalled the club could make further moves if needed, adding: "If we need to, we'll add one or two more from the '4' portion of our foreign player quota, because we are going to be champions." The comments reaffirmed the club's determined approach to strengthening the squad this summer.
Addressing rumours linking Fenerbahce to AC Milan's Rafael Leao, Yildirim pushed back on reports, saying "I supposedly called Milan and got angry over Leao — how could that even happen?" On club spending, the president added: "We spent €138 million on the Greenwood, Ake and Muriqi transfers. They've reviewed the cost of the incoming player too, and we're within our limits."
Yildirim's clear statements have generated significant excitement among Fenerbahce fans as the transfer window enters its final stretch, and are being read as a strong signal that the striker signing is close to completion.
