Beşiktaş GAİN Joins the 20-Team EuroLeague!

A historic day is unfolding for Turkish basketball. In line with the latest decisions taken by the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague management, our representative Beşiktaş GAİN has earned the right to compete in Europe's most prestigious club organization. As it was decided to increase the number of teams in the league to twenty starting next season, Beşiktaş officially obtained the title of the newest team to join this arena of giants.

The organization's expansion strategy and club preferences were decisive behind this major development. The fact that the French representative JL Bourg, which earned the right to participate in the EuroLeague as last season's EuroCup finalist, preferred not to use this right, threw the doors of Europe's number one cup wide open for the Black Eagles. At the management meeting, the black-and-white team's participation in the league was approved by the unanimous vote of 13 shareholder clubs. In this historic vote, Turkey's other EuroLeague prides, Fenerbahçe Beko and Anadolu Efes, also fully supported Beşiktaş, displaying a great example of solidarity.

Thus, next season, Turkey will achieve the success of being represented by exactly three ambitious teams in the EuroLeague. Beşiktaş GAİN is preparing to add color to Europe's toughest competition with its strong performance on the court and deep-rooted fan culture. On the other hand, the organization's plan to transition to a 24-team conference system starting from the 2027-2028 season stands out as another exciting development for the future of European basketball.
