One of the NBA's most notorious trash-talkers, Dillon Brooks, has once again made headlines with comments about LeBron James. Speaking as speculation grows over a possible LeBron move to the Philadelphia 76ers this offseason, the Phoenix Suns forward suggested the veteran is doing whatever it takes to chase one final championship late in his career.
"I think he's doing everything he can to get a last little ring," Brooks said. "I read he almost has enough footage for a Last Dance documentary." The remark, a clear nod to Michael Jordan's iconic documentary, echoes broader criticism that LeBron has spent his final seasons hopping between contenders in search of another title.
The rivalry between Brooks and LeBron is nothing new. The two have clashed repeatedly on the court in recent seasons, and footage of Brooks mockingly watching LeBron from the stands previously went viral. Still, Brooks surprised many back in May, after the Lakers were swept out of the playoffs, by offering unexpected praise, saying LeBron had "battled everybody and done it at a high level throughout" his career. This latest jab suggests Brooks' needling of LeBron is far from over.
