Chalobah wants Inter, Como waits

A notable development has occurred in a transfer on the agenda for Chelsea's defensive line. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, English defender Trevoh Chalobah has made his preference clear between the two Italian clubs interested in him: Serie A champions Inter. The player's agents traveled to Italy this week to meet with both clubs.

According to reports, Chelsea's asking price for Chalobah is €35 million. It is stated that the €25 million offer previously submitted by Como was rejected by Chelsea. While this development shows Como falling behind in the transfer race, it is notable that Inter have not yet made a formal offer.

An interesting gentleman's agreement has emerged between the two Italian clubs. Inter president Beppe Marotta and Como representative Mirwan Suwarso spoke by phone to avoid driving up prices on their shared targets, including Chalobah. Suwarso told Marotta that Como would gracefully withdraw from the race and turn to other options should Inter make a formal offer.

However, a different priority is currently on Inter's agenda. According to reports, the Italian giants are fully focused on another transfer target, Anan Khalaili, and have therefore put their pursuit of Chalobah on hold. Despite this, it is stated that Inter continue to work with the player's representatives on personal terms, and are expected to refocus on the Chalobah transfer once they resolve their issues on the right flank. Chelsea, meanwhile, are said to want to revamp their defense and have also shown interest in Crystal Palace's Maxence Lacroix.
