Christos Tzolis officially joins Arsenal

Arsenal's left-wing operation in the summer window has become official. According to David Ornstein, the club have reached an agreement with Club Brugge to sign Christos Tzolis; the deal was completed at the €40 million asking price set by Brugge, with the move now in the process of being finalised. Ornstein noted that the 24-year-old left winger, a Greece international, had wanted and prioritised a move to Arsenal throughout the process.

The journalist also clarified the context around this transfer. Ornstein stressed that the move is entirely separate from Arsenal's interest in Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers or any other target — meaning the Englishman could still follow Tzolis to the Emirates this summer.

Another significant piece of Ornstein's report concerns a different file. Arsenal are reported to have made an official enquiry to Juventus over Kenan Yildiz but were informed that Yildiz was not for sale, leading them to look at other options as a result — a detail that reveals another piece of the background behind the move for Tzolis.

The player's performances further underline the appeal of the deal. Signed by Club Brugge from Fortuna Dusseldorf for just €6.5 million in 2024, Tzolis produced an extraordinary 22 goals and 29 assists in 52 appearances across all competitions last season; having scored a combined 66 goals over the past three seasons, the player's earlier comments about his future also stood out: "It will have to be a Champions League team from England, Germany, Spain, or Italy. Or well, if PSG comes knocking, I'll probably go too."
