Dillon Brooks Agrees $73 Million Deal with Suns

The Phoenix Suns have secured the future of one of last season's standout performers, Dillon Brooks. According to ESPN's Shams Charania, the Canadian forward has signed a fully guaranteed three-year, $73 million extension with the club, running through 2029-30. The deal, confirmed by his agent Mike George of Klutch Sports, works out to an average annual value of $24.3 million.

Brooks, who arrived in Phoenix last season as part of the trade that sent Kevin Durant to Houston, enjoyed a career year, averaging 20.2 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.8 assists across 56 games. Suns owner Mat Ishbia had already signalled his commitment to the player back in January, responding to a social media suggestion of trading Brooks to the Lakers for Austin Reaves with: "Don't bother calling... Suns aren't interested. Dillon's not going anywhere."

Brooks, who fractured his left hand in a February win over the Orlando Magic and missed 18 games as a result, returned on March 31 and became the team's top scorer during the playoffs, averaging 26 points on 43.8% shooting from three. Despite putting in a strong showing even as the Suns were swept 4-0 by the top-seeded Thunder in the first round, Brooks' extension comes as the Suns front office spent the offseason locking up core pieces such as Collin Gillespie, Mark Williams and Jordan Goodwin to long-term deals.
