Diomande approves: Liverpool, PSG, City, United in play

One of the most crowded races of the summer transfer window is heating up, with four European giants involved. According to Bild, RB Leipzig's Ivory Coast star Yan Diomande has approved potential moves to Liverpool, PSG, Manchester City and Manchester United; all four clubs believe they are "in pole position" in this race. So far, only Liverpool have made an official offer: a package worth €80 million plus €20 million in add-ons, which was rejected by Leipzig.

The German club's stance is clear. Leipzig want at least €120 million and are simultaneously pushing to extend the 19-year-old's contract. None of his other suitors are said to be willing to go above €100 million so far, revealing a significant gap in valuation between the clubs.

The performances driving Diomande's value to its peak are plain to see. The young star, said to have agreed personal terms with PSG last month, produced 13 goals and 10 assists in his debut league season. His displays for Ivory Coast at the World Cup, particularly a run that troubled title-winning Arsenal left-back Piero Hincapié, also drew widespread attention.

Diomande's story is a striking one in itself. Joining from Leganés last summer for just a €20 million release clause, should a transfer materialize the fee would surpass the €90 million Manchester City paid for Josko Gvardiol, making it a club-record sale for Leipzig. With all four giants determined in this pursuit, the coming weeks are expected to shape the file's outcome.
