Fenerbahçe Sports Club denied through an official statement the claims that an agreement had been reached with Aykut Kocaman, which had been heavily on the agenda in the press and social media in recent days. In the announcement signed by President Aziz Yıldırım, it was emphasised that no agreement had been made with any head coach or coaching staff member; the club also called on press members to stay away from disinformation.

The statement came after A Spor's report that broad agreement had been reached with Aykut Kocaman and that an official announcement would be made on Friday took place on the agenda. According to the claims, Kocaman's name, a former player and coach of the yellow-blue community, was prominent for the new period head coach role, while Oğuz Çetin was planned to be brought in at the head of the club's football structure. The claims started a serious debate among yellow-blue fans.

In the official statement, the following expressions were used: "In recent days, on various media outlets and social media platforms, there have been many news and claims that Fenerbahçe Sports Club has reached an agreement with head coach and/or coaching staff members. These news do not reflect the truth; our Board of Directors has not, as of now, made any agreement with any head coach and/or coaching staff members." The statement continued with an important request that press members stay away from disinformation and not misinform the public.

The yellow-blue club also announced that it reserves the right to file a complaint against relevant press members in the event that baseless news and speculation continue. This sharp-toned statement carried the nature of a warning to the intense head coach news environment surrounding the club in recent weeks. After Domenico Tedesco's dismissal, different scenarios came to the agenda in Istanbul, and claims such as Volkan Demirel's joining the technical staff and the restructuring within the club proceeding rapidly were discussed.

Aziz Yıldırım was re-elected to the president seat of Fenerbahçe through an extraordinary election general assembly. During Yıldırım's previous period, a long successful run was experienced together with Aykut Kocaman at the yellow-blue team, and the Süper Lig title was won in the 2010-11 season. This strong cooperation in the past may have accelerated estimates that Yıldırım could also prefer Kocaman in the new period. However, the official statement clearly revealed that the decision had not yet been made.

Aykut Kocaman last managed RAMS Başakşehir in 2021; he has not held a position at any team since then. The 60-year-old manager has managed Fenerbahçe in two periods in his career and served in 197 matches. In case of a third period, this assignment would be one of the most challenging tests of Kocaman's football life; he would undertake the mission of managing the comprehensive restructuring expected at the yellow-blue team after Galatasaray's championship in the Süper Lig and carrying the community back to trophies.

In the coming days, the timing of Fenerbahçe management's final decision on this matter and with which name they will announce it will become clear. Even if the negotiations with Kocaman have not been officially confirmed, a consensus has formed that the club's contacts in this direction continue. However, the Yıldırım administration has sharply expressed that it will not allow misleading news to spread to the public.
