In Game 3 of the Turkish Basketball Super League playoff final, Fenerbahçe Beko beat Beşiktaş GAİN 82-71 away to take a 2-1 series lead and move a step closer to the title.
At the BJK Akatlar Sports Complex, Fenerbahçe produced a steady, quarter-by-quarter display. Although Beşiktaş took the first quarter 23-19, the visitors edged the second 24-17 to lead at the break. Dominant on the boards throughout (48-29), Fenerbahçe turned that rebounding edge into the win.
For Sarunas Jasikevicius's side, Talen Horton-Tucker and Wade Baldwin stood out, while Nicolo Melli posted a double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds. For Beşiktaş, Anthony Brown and Devon Dotson top-scored with 22 points each, but a lack of production across the rest of the roster helped the gap grow.
The statistics underlined Fenerbahçe's superiority: they led clearly on shooting percentage (45%-41%) and total rebounds (48-29). A drop-off in Beşiktaş's outside shooting stopped them repeating their Game 1 impact.
Refereed by Mehmet Serdar Ünal, Ali Şakacı and Mehmet Şahin, the result put the series at 2-1. In a series where the first to three wins is champion, Fenerbahçe are one win from lifting the trophy. Beşiktaş must win the next game to level. The series will continue, if needed, with games on June 19 and 21.
