Fenerbahce's Romelu Lukaku Plan Enters Final Stage

Fenerbahce have moved to secure one of the summer's most eye-catching attacking signings. The club's management has gathered detailed information through intermediaries regarding the transfer terms for Napoli forward Romelu Lukaku. Napoli are said to be open to selling the 33-year-old Belgian striker for a fee of around €10 million — a figure considered very achievable given Fenerbahce's budget.

According to the report, Fenerbahce's transfer committee is planning to travel to Italy next week for direct talks with Napoli's management. Speaking to NTV, journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu said: "Romelu Lukaku was offered to Besiktas around a month ago. Lukaku wants to come to the Super Lig, he clearly wants to come. We may be in the season where the chances of this happening are the closest they've been in recent times. Just as he was offered to Besiktas, he's also been offered to Fenerbahce."

It's worth recalling that Lukaku, who made six appearances for Belgium at the 2026 World Cup contributing three goals and an assist before the team was eliminated by Spain in the quarterfinals, still has an uncertain future at Napoli. Having seen limited playing time last season due to ongoing injury struggles, the player's agent, Federico Pastorello, previously stated it would be hard to accept a bench role — a comment seen as strengthening the likelihood of this transfer materialising. Fenerbahce are expected to submit an official offer this week.
