Ferran Torres Heading to PSG: Deal Draws Close

Ferran Torres' story at Barcelona appears to be drawing to a close. According to Fabrizio Romano, PSG have submitted an official offer to Barcelona for Ferran Torres, having already informed the club that personal terms have been agreed with the Spanish forward, with the French side now accelerating club-to-club negotiations over the transfer fee. Romano wrote: "Barcelona expect to receive opening official bid for Ferran Torres from Paris Saint-Germain shortly. Ferran's camp and PSG informed Barça about the verbal agreement on personal terms."

According to the report, talks between the two clubs are centred around a fee of €50 million, a figure that aligns with Barcelona's expectations. Sporting directors Deco and Luis Campos are said to have been in contact for days, with clear progress made in the negotiations over the past few hours. Looking for a new versatile striker following Goncalo Ramos' move to Milan, PSG are said to have moved for Ferran Torres specifically at head coach Luis Enrique's request.

Torres, 26, who scored Spain's only goal in the 2026 World Cup final and was Barcelona's top scorer in La Liga last season, has a contract running until 2027. Having joined Barcelona from Manchester City in 2022 and scored 65 goals in over 200 appearances since, Torres is said to be familiar with Luis Enrique from his time playing under the coach for the Spanish national team, a factor said to be facilitating the move. Barcelona are said to be aiming to complete the sale before Wednesday, August 12, when the squad returns for group training.
