Serie A side Fiorentina have announced that they have signed Bournemouth's Spanish defender Alex Jimenez on a season-long loan. The deal includes a €20 million option that could make the move permanent.
The 21-year-old was dropped from Bournemouth's first-team squad in May over what the club described as a "serious matter" relating to "posts circulating on social media," a matter that remains under investigation. Jimenez did not feature for Bournemouth's first team for the remainder of the season.
Jimenez, who initially joined Bournemouth on loan from AC Milan before signing permanently in February on a deal running until 2031, completes his return to Italy with this loan move.
