Nottingham Forest have confirmed their new head coach: Oliver Glasner. The Austrian, who departed Crystal Palace this summer having delivered FA Cup, Community Shield and UEFA Conference League glory to Selhurst Park, has been appointed at the City Ground. He becomes Forest's fifth head coach in less than a year.

Glasner arrives as only the third manager in history to have won both the UEFA Europa League and the UEFA Conference League. His CV also includes guiding VfL Wolfsburg into the Champions League and delivering Frankfurt's first major European trophy in over four decades — a Europa League triumph in 2021/22.

His appointment follows the departure of Vitor Pereira, whose dismissal clause was triggered with just two minutes to spare before it was due to expire. Nuno Espírito Santo, Ange Postecoglou, Sean Dyche and Pereira have all had spells in charge in the past year as Forest endured a turbulent season.

Glasner said: "From my very first conversations with the owner and the leadership team, it was evident to me that they have a clear vision and complete trust in me and my staff. That trust, together with the potential I see within the squad, were key factors for me."
