De Bruyne's time at Napoli has been far from smooth, marked by tactical disagreements, and reports even suggested a chilly reception from teammates following comments he made about former head coach Antonio Conte. With uncertainty over whether he fits into new boss Massimiliano Allegri's project, that instability may not be enough to keep the Belgian star in Europe. At the 2026 World Cup, De Bruyne scored against New Zealand, becoming the oldest player to net for Belgium at a World Cup at 34 years and 363 days old, proving he still has magic left in his boots.
With his Napoli contract running until June 2027, that timeline presents a potential hurdle for an immediate move. However, the uncertain atmosphere in Italy is reportedly making the prospect of a Miami adventure — and a potential reunion with Lionel Messi — increasingly appealing to De Bruyne.
