According to information shared by Italian journalist Nicolò Schira, Jamie Vardy, one of the legendary forwards of English football, is preparing to bring an end to his Italian adventure. The 39-year-old experienced striker, who transferred to Serie A side US Cremonese at the beginning of the season, decided to leave the club following their relegation.
Cremonese, fighting to stay in Italy's Serie A, suffered a 4-1 home defeat against Como 1907 in the final week of the season and was relegated to Serie B. Vardy, who opened a new chapter in Italy after his successful years at Leicester City, did his best for his team but could not prevent this relegation. The experienced center-forward scored 7 goals in the league for Cremonese, proving his quality and goal-scoring instincts once again despite his advancing age.
Under normal circumstances, the English player's contract with Cremonese was set to run until June 30, 2026. However, following the team's relegation, he informed the management that he does not wish to play in Serie B next season. According to details reported by Nicolò Schira, both parties have reached a mutual agreement regarding this departure, and Vardy will officially become a free agent as of July 1.
Having achieved great success in his career, including a Premier League title and a golden boot, it is already a matter of curiosity where Jamie Vardy will continue his football career or whether he will decide to retire after becoming a free agent. The legendary striker's name has already begun to be linked with both lower English leagues and alternative routes on different continents for the upcoming transfer window.
