Juventus have cleared a significant hurdle in their plan to reinforce their defence with Colombian centre-back Jhon Lucumi. According to transfer specialist Nicolo Schira, the 28-year-old has agreed personal terms with the Italian giants on a five-year contract worth €2.5 million per season. The Colombian defender is reported to have prioritised Juventus over other Serie A offers and expects to have a new club for the 2026-27 season.
Lucumi, whose contract with Bologna runs until 2027 and who had already turned down two extension offers from the club, is being valued by the Rossoblu at around €25 million. Although his €28 million release clause expired in mid-July, Bologna are reportedly still expecting an offer close to that figure. Lucumi's strong showing for Colombia at the 2026 World Cup further boosted his market value following the tournament.
Head coach Luciano Spalletti has long tracked Lucumi and reportedly wants to pair him with Gleison Bremer at the back. Besides Juventus, clubs including Como, Bournemouth, Nottingham Forest, Besiktas and Fenerbahce have also shown interest in the defender. However, with personal terms now agreed with Juventus, the move increasingly hinges on the fee negotiations between the two clubs.
