Lewis Hall Part of United's Left-Back Plan

Manchester United's search for left-back reinforcement continues this summer, and the club's focus has once again turned to Newcastle United's Lewis Hall. According to transfer specialist Ben Jacobs, the Red Devils, seeking cover and competition for Luke Shaw, have been closely tracking the defender and recently made checks on him. However, Jacobs stresses that no official contact between the two clubs has yet taken place.

Writing on X, Jacobs said: "Manchester United have made checks on Lewis Hall as they assess left-back options, as previously reported on talkSPORT. Not a new target, as Manchester United have been tracking the Newcastle left-back for some time, but no club-to-club contact yet. Newcastle would still like Hall to sign fresh terms, while the player will seek clarity over his role under new manager Matthias Jaissle."

Newcastle's hierarchy, confident in Hall's contract that runs until 2029, are in no rush to sell and view the 21-year-old English talent as central to their future plans. However, if uncertainty over his role under the new head coach persists, United are said to be ready to step in. Manchester United have already completed the signings of Andrey Santos, Karl Darlow, Youri Tielemans and Tynan Thompson this summer but are still targeting another midfielder, a left winger and a left-back.
