Manchester United's Igor Thiago File

A new name has emerged in Manchester United's attacking plans: Igor Thiago. Transfer specialist Ben Jacobs confirmed on The United Stand that the Red Devils have discussed the Brentford Brazilian internally. "Igor Thiago has been discussed as somebody who's Premier League ready," Jacobs said. "Nothing more than that at this stage, more of an internal conversation and a normal player call to understand his situation. Getting him out this summer is going to be incredibly difficult."

The 25-year-old, who scored 25 goals in 40 appearances across all competitions last season to become Brentford's most important attacking weapon, and who manager Keith Andrews has described as a "top performer," emerged as one of the Premier League's standout scorers. According to Jacobs, United would only "attack" the No. 9 market in earnest should Joshua Zirkzee leave the club, with Thiago viewed as a potential option in that scenario.

Manchester United's management, having already secured Ederson from Atalanta this summer, are targeting one more midfielder, a left-back and a left-winger, with a centre-back and a striker also on the wish list should the budget allow. Thiago was prolific at his previous clubs too, though it took him some time to adjust to the Premier League. Analysts note that United would be wise not to rush into a deal, as another strong season at Brentford would only push his valuation even higher.
