Manchester City's search for wide reinforcements this summer window is taking shape around a name that overlaps with head coach Enzo Maresca's past. According to Mail Sport, Pedro Neto is on Manchester City's list to reinforce the attack on the wings.

The scope of this interest has also become clear. According to Yahoo Sports, Chelsea and Portugal winger Neto is among the names on City's radar as they formulate a list of potential winger targets this summer; the club's sporting director Hugo Viana and the recruitment team are also reported to be considering other names, including PSG's Ibrahim Mbaye and RB Leipzig's Yan Diomande.

There is another file behind this search. The background to the search for wide reinforcement includes Tottenham nearing an agreement for Savinho; it is emphasised that Enzo Maresca's staff want to have a replacement lined up in case of the Brazilian's potential departure.

City's interest in Neto is also recalled to have deep roots. The club is said to have already held an interest in the player before he moved from Wolves to Chelsea; Etihad Stadium's new head coach Enzo Maresca is reported to have struck up a "good rapport" with the player during their time together at Stamford Bridge.
