Mbappé's brace and a record: France advance

In the World Cup Round of 32, France produced an impressive performance against Sweden to leave the field 3-0 winners and book their place in the last 16. The star of the match was Kylian Mbappé, who carried his team to victory with two goals.

Kylian Mbappé's two goals took his total World Cup tally to 17, placing him on his own as the second-highest scorer in the tournament's history, behind Lionel Messi. The young star also increased his knockout-stage goal count, rising to the position of the highest scorer of all time at that stage. France's opponent in the last 16 will be one of the eagerly awaited storylines of the tournament.
