A very comprehensive investigation regarding forgery in official documents and mobbing crimes is currently being carried out within the scope of the Referees File conducted under the coordination of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. In simultaneous operations organized in a total of 4 provinces, namely Istanbul, Ankara, Elazig, and Manisa, 7 suspects including Central Referee Board President Ferhat Gündoğdu were detained. Among the other names detained in this operation carried out with great meticulousness by the security forces, TFF Active Referees Association President Ferdi Karadoruk, former MHK Deputy Chairman Ahmet Şahin, and former MHK member Yunus Yıldırım also draw attention. The shocking WhatsApp correspondence that entered the investigation file fully reveals the actual dimension of this giant scandal. The blood-curdling messages in the records examined by the authorities, such as "Let's remove these four from the list, brother", "Let's be careful, let's not remove them immediately", and "Since he does not bow down, rip his head off and let him go", deeply shake the football world. The heavy allegations directed at the suspects in custody do not remain limited only to these messages. Security sources claim that the suspects left some referees out of the classification without showing an objective reason, committed the crime of torment by systematically excluding the people they did not give duties to, and clearly treated some names with privilege. According to the details in the investigation documents, it catches the eye that huge irregular changes occurred in the referee and observer lists prepared in the years 2022 and 2024. Furthermore, authorities clearly state that direct interventions occurred in the exam questions and grading process in the rule exam held at the Riva facilities in the year 2025, and even the exam results of some referees changed deliberately. The security units continue the interrogation of the suspects right now. Following this operation that shook Turkish football to its foundations, federation officials will hold an urgent meeting and take radical decisions. The prosecutor's office will take brand new steps and expand the scope of the investigation even further in the upcoming days.
