One of the most surprising developments of the summer transfer window has emerged at Boca Juniors. Speaking on ESPN Argentina's "Buen Dia ESPN" programme, journalist Martin Arevalo revealed that Italian giants Milan would soon inform either Boca or Leandro Paredes directly that they have a concrete offer prepared to sign the Boca forward. Arevalo said: "In the coming hours, Milan of Italy are going to let Boca or Leandro Paredes know — I don't know how they'll handle it — that they have a concrete offer to buy the Boca player."
The 31-year-old Argentine midfielder is said to have caught Milan's attention following his strong performances at the 2026 World Cup. Arevalo commented: "The fact that a major club like Milan is coming with an offer is news in itself. What happens after that, I don't know. Paredes had a very good World Cup. But it's clear he made a life decision to return to Argentina." The journalist also noted that before Rodri's move to Barcelona was finalised, people close to Paredes had been asked about the player's situation as well.
Paredes, Boca's captain and hierarchical leader, is under contract with the club until December 2028. Although no official offer has reached the club yet, La Bombonera's management are reportedly expecting one to arrive. According to Arevalo's own assessment, Paredes currently prefers to stay at Boca, though he made clear this was his personal presumption rather than confirmed information.
