Monaco champions in France: a blow to Paris on the road

The final series was a tight contest right to the end. Both teams had won their home games to level the series at 2-2, so the single, title-deciding game was played at Paris' home. The sides started well and went into the break even, with the difference emerging in the final quarter. After Paris led following the first three periods, Monaco produced a 28-11 final ten minutes to both erase the gap and pull away to the title.

Monaco's attacking productivity was decisive in the win. Jaron Blossomgame was the night's top scorer with 27 points, while Juhann Begarin put up a near double-double with 18 points and 9 rebounds. Yoan Makoundou chipped in with 14. The stats pointed to a balanced battle; although Paris led 70-65 on shot attempts, Monaco edged the shooting percentage 51% to Paris' 49% and made the difference with their efficiency.

The most striking part of this title was that Monaco took the floor without star point guard Matthew Strazel. Suspended for his words toward the referee in Game 3 of the final, Strazel could not play in the decider. Even so, Sasha Obradovic's side showed their depth and character to win the most crucial game.

For Monaco, this triumph means a third trophy in the last four years after the titles in 2023 and 2024, cementing the club's dominance in French basketball. The result was also a measure of revenge over Paris Basketball, who beat Monaco in Game 5 last season (2025) to take the title; this time Monaco came out on top. Between two teams competing at a high level in both the EuroLeague and the domestic league, this final was also a sign of the rising standard of French basketball.
