MOURINHO CRISIS AT REAL MADRID: NO MIDFIELDER SIGNED

The transfer tension between manager Jose Mourinho and the club board came to light at Real Madrid. According to exclusive news shared by The Athletic, the Portuguese coach explicitly asked for a creative midfielder to be added to the squad during the summer transfer window. The experienced manager submitted a clear report to the board to eliminate the lack of productivity and tempo in the center. Spanish star Rodri, who wore the Manchester City jersey, took place at the very top of Mourinho's transfer list. The Portuguese coach assigned a massive role in his tactical plans to Rodri's football intellect, defensive balance, and passing quality. However, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez and the board of directors did not approve this transfer, citing financial costs and the existing squad structure. Club officials argued that the current midfield rotation was sufficient for the seasonal targets and did not enter an expensive transfer move. This decision caused a deep difference of opinion between the technical staff and the board. This transfer veto experienced at the beginning of the season flared up again within the club following unstable results obtained in the league. The blockage experienced by the team in attacking organizations fully justified the concerns of the Portuguese coach in the summer. Mourinho indirectly criticized the lack of on-pitch creativity in press conferences and implied that squad depth remained insufficient. The board defended that maximum efficiency should be extracted from the current players. Sources close to the club stated that this coolness between both parties directly reflected on the team's overall atmosphere.
