Mourinho's dream: Real Madrid prepare €222m for Olise

Real Madrid are preparing to shake up the transfer market once again. According to Fichajes, the Spanish giants are working on a €222 million offer for Bayern Munich's French winger Michael Olise. Should the deal go through, it would surpass the previous world transfer record — the €222 million PSG paid Barcelona for Neymar in 2017.

The driving force behind the move is reported to be a personal request from new head coach Jose Mourinho, who is said to dream of pairing Olise with Mbappe and Vinicius Junior to build the most feared attack in world football. President Florentino Perez, meanwhile, is looking to fulfil the "major signing" promise he made during his re-election campaign.

Olise, who joined Bayern from Crystal Palace in the summer of 2024, has enjoyed a meteoric rise in Bavaria ever since, and has been one of France's standout performers at the 2026 World Cup. The 24-year-old is under contract with Bayern until 2029, and club president Herbert Hainer has responded bluntly to the speculation: "We are not selling Michael, they can save themselves the trouble."

Despite Bayern's firm stance, Real Madrid are said to be persistent and ready to push the figure higher if necessary. Olise himself is reportedly seeking a sit-down with Bayern's leadership to gain clarity on his future. Having already added Cucurella, Bernardo Silva, Konaté and Dumfries this summer, Real Madrid see Olise as the crowning signing of the Mourinho era.
