Offer ready until 2030: Real Madrid's Rodri plan confirmed

The "Mourinho's push pays off" file we covered earlier has reached a concrete next stage. According to Matteo Moretto, Real Madrid have agreed personal terms with Rodri; talks between the clubs are set to begin.

The scale of this development has also become clear. According to Moretto, Real Madrid already have Rodri's approval, and from a contractual standpoint the parties are described as extremely close to an agreement in principle; the most striking element of the report is that Florentino Perez's position has become "much more open" — a direct contrast to the institutional resistance seen before the World Cup final.

The process, however, has not yet moved to a formal stage. Moretto also explicitly emphasises that this shift in Real Madrid's stance has not yet translated into formal contact with Manchester City; no negotiations are currently taking place between the two clubs at this stage.

The talks also have a concrete history. According to a report from Sky Sport Germany's Patrick Berger, the meeting between Real Madrid and the player's representatives took place on July 21 at a restaurant in Madrid's Pozuelo de Alarcon district; the club is reported to be prepared to offer the player a long-term contract until 2030.

An interesting contradiction also stands out in this file. According to MSport, while Real Madrid has made its final decision to sign Rodri and is working on personal terms, the club has officially denied approaching Manchester City at all; the player, meanwhile, is scheduled to undergo back surgery on Monday.

City's negotiating power also plays a key role in this process. With his City contract running until June 2027, and City's leverage reported to be diminishing as a result, it is emphasised that the club's director of football Hugo Viana will play a decisive role in determining whether City will even entertain such offers.
