Ouahbi's striking words: no longer a surprise

Morocco head coach Mohamed Ouahbi made important remarks at the press conference ahead of their crucial World Cup quarterfinal against France. The manager first confirmed that star player Ismael Saibari will not be available for the match due to the injury he sustained against Canada.

Ouahbi used the following words on the matter: "All the players are ready, except Ismael Saibari. This match comes a little too early for him, but I hope he will not miss the rest of the tournament." While the absence of the experienced player is seen as a loss for Morocco, the manager made clear that his team's ambition would not be compromised.

Rejecting the idea that Morocco are preparing only to avoid defeat against France, Ouahbi took a firm stance: "Losing to France, or to any other team, is not what we are thinking about. Our ambition is to win." The manager emphasized that his team will take to the pitch tomorrow with a single goal: qualifying for the semifinals.

Also rejecting suggestions that they want revenge for the 2-0 loss to France in the 2022 World Cup semifinal, Ouahbi stated that his team is no longer a surprise to anyone. The experienced manager underlined that Morocco has not reached this level by accident, saying: "I like surprises. But everyone who has watched and analyzed our matches knows very well how we play."
