Paris Saint-Germain have turned their attention to Strasbourg's Guéla Doué in an effort to finally solve their long-standing lack of depth at right-back. According to L'Équipe, the Parisian club is interested in the 23-year-old Ivorian as a quality alternative to Achraf Hakimi. PSG's search for cover last summer came up empty, forcing the club to rely on midfielders Warren Zaire-Emery and Joao Neves as makeshift fill-ins during Hakimi's rare absences.
Guéla Doué established himself as one of Ligue 1's standout defenders last season, contributing two goals and seven assists in 34 appearances for Strasbourg. His versatility, capable of playing at right-back, in central defence, or even tucking into midfield, fits well within Luis Enrique's tactical system. He also drew attention with his performances for Ivory Coast at the 2026 World Cup, starting against Ecuador and Curacao and coming on as a substitute against Germany.
Following those performances, Strasbourg have placed a €30-35 million valuation on their player, with Borussia Dortmund also reportedly interested. The biggest question mark for PSG remains whether Doué, an automatic starter at Strasbourg last season, will be willing to accept a backup role in Paris. His contract with Strasbourg runs until 2029.
