Vinicius Junior's contract situation at Real Madrid has taken a positive turn in recent days. According to sources, the club improved its offer to the Brazilian star following the World Cup, with the new proposal worth around €22 million a year — an increase on what Real Madrid had been willing to offer over the previous two seasons of negotiations.
A meeting took place on Wednesday attended by Real Madrid general director Jose Angel Sanchez, chief scout Juni Calafat, Vinicius' agent Frederico Pena and the player's advisor Tata Soares, with discussions described as positive and the player's camp now said to feel optimistic about a renewal. Still, a significant gap remains between Madrid's latest offer and Vinicius' reported demand of around €30 million.
The 26-year-old, whose current deal expires in June 2027 and who has drawn strong interest from Arsenal, has repeatedly voiced his commitment to the club: "I've never imagined myself away from Real Madrid... I enjoy every moment I play here because it's the club of my dreams." Speaking about his early days under new head coach Jose Mourinho, Vinicius said the process had gone very well, adding: "Mourinho wants me to be as I have always been: happy, joyful and to play my football." It's also noted the club remains open to a sale this summer should no agreement be reached, in which case Madrid would expect a fee of around €150 million.
