Record-Breaking Transfer: Michael Olise to Real Madrid

One of the biggest files of the summer transfer window has entered a new stage. According to the report, Michael Olise wants to join Real Madrid, with the Spanish giants looking to complete a record-breaking transfer. Bayern Munich currently consider the French winger "untouchable," but the club is reported to have already made contact with potential replacements in the event that he leaves.

The figures involved are staggering. Scenarios circulating in the press suggest Real Madrid have prepared a package totalling €223 million, made up of a €190 million fixed fee plus €33 million in add-ons; should that materialize, it would surpass Neymar's historic €222 million move to PSG in 2017.

The pressure is coming not only from the club but from within the France national team camp. Kylian Mbappé, Aurélien Tchouaméni and Ibrahima Konaté are said to be acting as unofficial ambassadors, encouraging Olise to join the Bernabéu project; the idea of extending his on-pitch chemistry with Mbappé to club level is reported to be a serious draw for the player.

On Bayern's side, the picture is considerably complicated. The 24-year-old, who joined from Crystal Palace for around €60 million in 2024 and is under contract until 2029, is said to want to sit down with the club after the tournament to clarify his future; his current net salary of €8 million is reportedly now seen as inadequate, with Bayern having prepared a renewal offer raising it to €14 million. However, the player's representative, Rebecca James, is reported to be advising against signing a new deal. Club president Herbert Hainer has taken a firm public stance, saying "Real Madrid can save themselves the effort, we don't want to sell Michael" — though there are signs Bayern internally are edging closer to accepting that "anything can happen."
