Strong side from Martínez: Ronaldo starts

Portugal have named their starting XI against Colombia in the match to decide the Group K winner at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. At Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Roberto Martínez has gone with his star-studded side, knowing a win is required to finish top of the group.

Cristiano Ronaldo is once again at the heart of the attack. Starting as captain, the 41-year-old became the first player to score at six different World Cups with his brace against Uzbekistan, and his 10 goals make him Portugal's all-time top scorer at the tournament. The standout feature of Martínez's selection is the strength of the bench. Bernardo Silva, Rafael Leão, Gonçalo Ramos, João Neves and Diogo Dalot all start among the substitutes. The defense consists of João Cancelo, Rúben Dias, Veiga and Nuno Mendes, with Costa in goal.

For Colombia, Néstor Lorenzo's selection contains surprises. Luis Suárez, who scored 38 goals for Sporting CP, and Daniel Muñoz, who scored the winner against DR Congo, have both been benched. Machado features at left back and Dávinson Sánchez at center back; in attack, captain James Rodríguez lines up alongside Córdoba and Luis Díaz.

Both teams have largely secured their place in the next round, with this match deciding top spot. A draw is enough for Colombia, while Portugal must win to finish first.
