Starting the season with high ambitions after signing Mohamed Salah, the most talked-about name of the transfer period, Trabzonspor traveled to face Kasımpaşa in the first week of the Trendyol Super Lig. The match, where football fans were glued to their screens to see Salah's first performance, ended in a 1-1 draw. The Burgundy-Blues took the lead in the 43rd minute with a goal by Noah Saviolo. However, at the start of the second half, in the 56th minute, Adrian Benedyczak's penalty goal leveled the score, and as no more goals were scored in the remaining minutes, the teams shared the points.
The match statistics clearly highlighted Trabzonspor's dominance on the pitch. Establishing clear superiority over their opponent with 59% possession throughout the game, the visitors tried to exert pressure on the opponent's goal by using 10 corner kicks. Taking a total of 9 shots and hitting the target 5 times, Trabzonspor could not find the necessary productivity in final touches to secure the win. Kasımpaşa, on the other hand, managed 3 shots on target out of 7 total attempts while playing a more aggressive game, committing 14 fouls and receiving 2 yellow cards. This draw, in the first match with Mohamed Salah on the pitch, showed that Trabzonspor is at the very beginning of the road to the championship and that the adaptation process is still ongoing.
